Our Sacred Journey
The Story of Our Trust
The story of Thirumurugan Samajam Trust is one of unwavering faith, community spirit, and the boundless grace of Lord Murugan. What began as a vision of a small group of devotees in 2006 has grown into a thriving spiritual centre that serves thousands of devotees in the Vasai region.
Through nearly two decades of dedicated service, the trust has nurtured a community bound by devotion, compassion, and the timeless traditions of Sanatana Dharma. Every brick laid, every prayer offered, and every act of charity has been guided by the divine grace of Lord Subramanya.
Our Journey Through the Years
The Founding
A group of like-minded devotees with deep faith in Lord Murugan came together to establish Thirumurugan Samajam Trust in Vasai West. Their vision: to create a cultural complex and temple that would serve as a spiritual home for the Tamil community and all devotees in the region.
United by their love for Lord Subramanya and a desire to preserve the rich cultural traditions of Tamil Nadu, these founding members planted the seed of what would become one of the most vibrant spiritual centres in Palghar district.
Early Years
The newly formed trust began organizing regular poojas and community gatherings. Monthly Shashti observances became a cornerstone of the Samajam's spiritual activities. The community grew steadily as word spread about the trust's devotion and service.
During these formative years, the trust established a strong foundation of regular worship, cultural programmes, and community bonding. Devotees from across Vasai and neighbouring areas joined the growing family, drawn by the sincere devotion and warmth of the Samajam.
Growing the Community
The trust expanded its charitable activities, initiating Annadhanam (free food distribution), clothing distribution to Adivasi communities in Parole village and Vajreshwari, and support for orphanages in the Vasai area. Blood donation drives and notebook distribution for underprivileged students became regular features.
These years marked the trust's commitment to seva (selfless service) as an integral part of spiritual life. The Samajam demonstrated that worship extends beyond the sanctum — it lives in every act of kindness and compassion towards fellow beings.
Temple Construction Begins
With growing community support, the trust embarked on constructing a permanent temple in authentic Tamil (South Indian) architectural style. Sthapathi Parthiban Stabadi was appointed as the temple architect, with Ravichandran Muthu as design consultant and Y. Thamotharan Nadar as civil engineer.
Every aspect of the temple's design was guided by the sacred principles of Agama Shastra and Vastu Shastra, ensuring that the temple would be a true abode of the divine — built with precision, devotion, and adherence to centuries-old architectural traditions.
Bala Ganapati Kumbhabhishekam
A historic milestone: the first Kumbhabhishekam (consecration ceremony) at the temple was performed for Sri Bala Ganapati. This marked the completion and sanctification of the first shrine, establishing the divine presence permanently at the temple.
The sacred ceremony was conducted by experienced Vedic priests following traditional Agamic rites. Thousands of devotees witnessed this momentous occasion, as holy waters were poured over the Vimanam (temple tower), invoking the eternal blessings of Lord Ganesha upon the temple and its devotees.
Perseverance Through Challenges
Despite the global pandemic, the trust continued serving the community through adapted services and increased charitable activities. Temple construction progressed steadily with the main shrine taking shape.
During the most challenging period of the pandemic, the Samajam organized food distribution drives, provided essential supplies to those in need, and conducted virtual prayer sessions to keep the spiritual flame alive in the hearts of devotees. This period tested and strengthened the community's resolve.
Temple Completion
The main temple structure was completed, marking the fulfillment of nearly two decades of devotion and perseverance. The temple now features shrines for Lord Murugan, Bala Ganapati, and Sri Balaji, along with a temple chariot, sacred well, and Sthala tree.
This achievement stands as a testament to the collective faith and tireless efforts of hundreds of devotees, volunteers, and well-wishers who contributed their time, resources, and prayers to bring this divine vision to reality.
Rajagopuram Vision
The trust envisions the construction of a grand Rajagopuram (temple tower), which will make our temple a complete traditional South Indian temple complex. This ambitious project represents the next chapter in our sacred journey.
The Rajagopuram will rise as a majestic gateway to the divine, visible from afar, beckoning devotees to enter and experience the sanctity within. It will be adorned with intricate sculptures depicting divine stories and celestial beings, following the finest traditions of Dravidian temple architecture.

To provide truth seekers of Vasai and the neighbourhood with a cultural complex and a temple to quench their spiritual thirst.
