Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Policy Statement
Thiru Murugan Samajam Trust (TMST) is a registered charitable and religious trust. All transactions made through our website vasaivasaithirumurugansamajam.in are voluntary donations made towards the religious, charitable, and social activities of the Trust. These donations are acts of devotion and generosity.
As a general policy, all donations are voluntary, irrevocable, and non-refundable. Once a donation is successfully processed, it is considered a completed contribution to the Trust and cannot be cancelled or reversed under normal circumstances.
2. Exceptions
TMST recognises that errors may occasionally occur during the donation process. Refunds may be considered in the following exceptional circumstances:
- Duplicate Transactions: If you have been charged more than once for the same donation due to a technical error or payment gateway issue, you may request a refund for the duplicate amount(s).
- Erroneous Amount: If the amount debited from your account is significantly different from the amount you intended to donate due to a system or input error, you may request a correction or refund of the excess amount.
- Failed Transaction with Debit: If your account has been debited but the transaction was not confirmed or recorded as a successful donation on our end, you may request a refund of the debited amount.
Refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Trust administration. TMST reserves the right to approve or decline refund requests at its sole discretion.
3. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund under the exceptions listed above, please contact us within 15 days of the transaction date with the following details:
- Full name of the donor (as provided during the donation)
- Email address used for the donation
- Transaction ID or Order ID (from the payment confirmation email or SMS)
- Date of the transaction
- Donation amount
- Reason for the refund request
- Supporting evidence (e.g., bank statement showing duplicate charge, screenshot of error)

4. Processing Time
Once a refund request is received and approved by TMST, the refund will be processed within 7–10 business days. Please note:
- The actual time for the refund to reflect in your account may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
- TMST will make reasonable efforts to process refunds promptly but shall not be held liable for delays caused by banks, payment gateways, or other third-party financial institutions.
- You will be notified via email or phone once the refund has been initiated from our end.
5. Mode of Refund
All approved refunds will be credited back to the original payment method used for the donation:
- Credit/Debit Card: Refund will be credited to the same card used for the transaction.
- Net Banking: Refund will be credited to the same bank account.
- UPI: Refund will be credited to the same UPI-linked bank account.
- Wallet: Refund will be credited to the same digital wallet.
Refunds cannot be processed via cash, cheque, or to a different account than the one used for the original transaction.
6. Cancellation of Seva or Pooja Bookings
If you have made a donation specifically for a pooja or seva service and wish to cancel, please contact us at least 48 hours before the scheduled date of the service. Cancellation requests made less than 48 hours before the scheduled service may not be eligible for a refund, as preparations for the pooja or seva may have already commenced.
